Great place downtown at a reasonable price, though noisy
The location (though this can also be negative because of the noise) , the room, breakfast and bed
Being downtown it can be extremely noisy, especially during rallies and demonstrations. Also fun to watch the exercise of democracy in Uruguay but if you are tired and want to take a nap it is quite difficult during those moments

Very Good
Junior suite had a good view and was a large room with a sitting area. Comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was good. Good location Close to.the old town. Good restaurants nearby.
Bar was poor - had no gin. No character.

What was the highlight of Crystal Palace Hotel
Excellent location but disorganised breakfast.
The room was excellent very spacious, with a lovely view of the city centre. The location is perfect, right at the centre of the capital city, with access to all the restaurants, cinemas and theatres.
The breakfast was a mess. I arrived within the time, but the two girls who were attending it didn't do a good job at clearing the empty tables and refilling the trays. When I got there, there was no coffee left and no signs of them refilling the thermos, I could only get a glass of juice (also mostly empty) and a couple of toasts with jam. When I turned around to sit, I couldn't find a table, those which were not taken already, were full of leftovers from the previous guests. In the end, I just sat at one, put my things in the corner of the table, which still had dirty cups, glasses and saucers and tried to eat as much as I could. This is the first time that I see something like this at a hotel, and it really ruined my experience. I'm not one to complain about service, so I didn't say it at the reception, but I wish they've changed the staff... Reception staff were very nice and helpful, though.
